When we design a kitchen at Robinson's, we in-corporate as many storage ideas as possible.

We use as many of these as the budget will allow. The idea is to maximise your available space. We normally use as many drawers as possible as these are basically slide out shelves.

Did you know , you can actually create up to 55% more storage space with drawers, than what you can with a standard cabinet?

How is this possible you ask?
Consider a standard floor cabinet. This will have a base and a shelf. When we look at what a client already has in the way of storage, we find a lot of wasted space above the stored items, but it is not very practical to insert another shelf, as the items become difficult to reach.
Our standard format for drawers is a standard height top drawer for coffee cups, utensils, food wraps, etc. Then we have 2 deeper ones below for crockery, pots and pans, plastic containers, etc. Drawers can be done in any configuration to suit your needs. Some types you may not have thought of are
• Drawers under the sink. These are a "U" shape that can fit around the sink bowls and plumbing
• Corner drawers. These actually replace a corner cabinet, with long corner shaped drawers
• Drawers with dividers to stand cooking condiments
• Drawers with plate stackers
At Robinson's we use the Blum brand which is a high quality product made in Austria. Facts about these drawers
• Available in standard close or soft close
• The finish is either powder coated white or stainless steel
• Weight capacity of 30kg to 80kg (more than an average size adult)
• Have a warranty for the life of your kitchen
Remember, the drawer is like a pull out shelf - no more getting down on your hands and knees to find that pesky, elusive container lid!! Yes they add a small cost to your kitchen, however, I always suggest to customers that having a new kitchen built is a substantial investment, so do it once and do it right.
